Modern Foreign Language
At Elworth we teach French across KS2. We follow the objectives set out in the National Curriculum which help prepare a child for an in depth study of a language at KS3. MFL is taught in a variety of ways with both written and oral outcomes. Lessons are interactive and engaging using a variety of music, games and conversational language skills that engage the children at their level. Children are first introduced to simple French greetings and phrases during KS1 even though it is not a statutory requirement for this age group.
Across the school year, children are offered the opportunity to join after school language clubs. We offer both Spanish and French clubs, which the children enjoy.
As part of our languages offer at Elworth CE Primary, we also subscribe as a school to Linguascope. this is an excellent online platform which your children can access both in school and at home. This offers a wide variety of interactive games to enhance and support the children's learning.
